If you want the benefit of cross-buy (to get the Quest versions of any Rift games you own which support cross-buy), you would have to merge your existing Oculus account into your Facebook account. Guess I'll have to look at the more expensive options like Reverb can use your old Oculus account for any other Oculus device, but for a Quest 2 you must have a Facebook account. Oh well, Guess my money shall go elsewhere, Surely it would be within Oculus' ability to give the option of setting up a Q2 via link cable and Oculus account and no Facebook account, quite annoying. Although I've never looked for iphone emulators (only tried android ones), no idea if those even exist.Īndroid tablets and ipads will work too, not just phones. After that the Quest 2 itself can buy from the store, change wifi settings, etc.Īlso, since people often suggest it, there's currently no phone emulator for PC that I'm aware of that will work, none of them have bluetooth support. So you could use a friend's phone to do the first setup, then log out of the mobile app and uninstall it. You don't need a phone to keep using it though, apart from a few rare events like toggling developer mode on/off the phone isn't needed after you've got the Quest 2 up and running. Still requires a phone to do the initial setup, and you can't enable Link without having it set up first.
